Dr. Gerrita PostlewaitSuperintendent of Schools
Gerrita Postlewait became Charleston County’s Superintendent of Schools on July 9, 2015. She brings with her a wealth of experiences as an education practitioner and leader at the district, state, and national levels, and as an executive in the private sector. She served as Chair of the State Board of Education, as a member of the national governing board of the American Association of School Administrators, and as a consultant for several districts, states, and national organizations. As Chief K-12 Officer for a foundation, she helped establish the national Innovation Lab Network and co-founded Transform SC, a state-wide business-education partnership that fosters systemic educational change.
Jeffrey BorowyChief Operating Officer
Jeffrey Borowy was appointed Chief Operating Officer in June 2016. Borowy has served as Deputy for Capital Programs since 2014 after more than 28 years as a Naval Officer. During Borowy’s time in service, he filled roles such as the Vice Commander for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, the Chief of Staff for the First Naval Construction Division, and the Commanding Officer of NAVFAC Europe Africa Southwest Asia. He holds a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Ohio Northern University, and a Master’s in Environmental Engineering from Georgia Tech
Bill BriggmanChief Human Resources Officer
Bill Briggman has 27 years of experience in human resources and currently serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer. Briggman was named 2018-2019 SC Personnel Administrator of the Year at the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA) 2019 Personnel Winter Conference in Columbia. This statewide award is presented to a personnel director at the district level. The award recognizes involvement with regional or statewide SCASA educational issues, and the nominee's impact on improvement in his or her school district.
Erica S. TaylorChief of Staff
Erica Taylor received a title change in December 2018 after previously serving as CCSD’s Chief Officer for Strategy and Communications for the past two years, and as its Executive Director of that division for several years prior. Taylor will continue to supervise the Office of Strategy and Communications, as well as provide enhanced executive level support on various internal projects and district relations with government and community agencies.
Natalie HamGeneral Counsel
Natalie A. Ham joined CCSD in June of 2017 as its Staff Attorney. Ham joins the District from Columbia, SC where she has held the position of Assistant City Attorney since January 2015. Ham has an impressive resume which spans nearly a decade of legal service rendered both publically and privately. Ham began her career in 2007 as the Assistant Attorney General for South Carolina where she served as the attorney in the State Grand Jury Division, prosecuted criminal cases, and exclusively handled South Carolina Administrative Law cases with SLED.
